J.B. Short Carpet One Floor & Home has been your locally owned flooring store in Vass, North Carolina, for nearly a century. Originally opened in 1925, we began as a small business in a residential neighborhood. In 1996, we joined the Carpet One cooperative, the largest flooring co-op in North America. Two years later, we purchased a new location on a major highway in order to expand our inventory and better serve our clientele.
Our locally owned business was founded by Johnny Baxter (JB) Short. In the early days, we were more of a flooring installation and service business and have now evolved into a full fledged floor and home store. After all these decades, our business has remained family owned and operated. JB Short’s grandson, Tim Short, became a part owner in the early 2000s and is currently the majority shareholder. Over the many decades, our mission has remained the same: we always operate with the highest level of integrity while maintaining a thriving business. As a local business, we are also committed to serving our community. We’re proud to support area high school sports and other causes that are close to our heart.
